Finally found an outlet for creative (think so) writing (hope so), guess wanted to feel like a writer for a long time, who knows next Booker must be tailing! Well tempted to become a crusader overnight, but let me hold my horses (they buck) for a day or two and then probably I'll write about "NPT", "Global Warming", "India's economic future", "whats wrong with America's foreign policy" etc etc. Still need to be cautious don't want my phones tapped for SECURITY!!!
Its difficult living an ex servicemens' life. Especially an officer, with an AWHO provided flat in gurgaon, kids well settled, monthly pension and biggest of all, quota of "rum whiskey et al". With so many problems I guess its OK to fix monthly wage for the house maids at exorbitant Rs 3500/pm for 12 hrs daily 7 days a week. These guys deserve it, you see margins need to be extracted from marginalized. So what if this falls way below the stipulated daily wages. His highness the society president or the secretary (don't know which is bigger) of "Devinder Vihar", Sector 56, Gurgaon has put up the rates on notice board with a veiled threat of passes being cancelled if the maids even want to change houses leave alone ask for more money. Guess they deserve it first it was the commonwealth games which gave them forced holiday- Gurgaon Police didn't want these helps around as the whole place was too neat and clean for the taste of all visiting athletes. You see with all the marginalized away from scene there was enough crap on the road to keep everyone busy and let Mr. Kalmadi get away. Alas! we really want Olympics now probably these marginalized will be force fully sent to Bangkok!
Mr. President or Secretary wake up. These maids keep our houses running if not more give them the basic due which the government stipulated or you'll need to spend some extra time and money on unnecessary court/ police action.
